A Softer Side of Christmas
Who says your holiday color scheme has to consist of the traditional red and green? Why not embrace your softer side this season, and play up the romance in your Christmas display with white, gold, and blush toned ornaments?
To get this look, remember: it’s all about the pretty details. A glistening white tree serves as the perfect canvas. (Not to mention, when it’s lit, the tree looks strikingly luminous.) Next, start by decorating its branches with blush garlands in two sizes. Then dot the tree with soft white, brassy gold, and blush/ombre ornaments, and embellish with glass crystals and glittery baubles for extra sparkle. Vases of flowers can also be placed throughout the room for additional romance. The result is a look that shows the softer side of Christmas. And the best part: it is simple to achieve a look that is elegant, refined, and oh-so-lovely.
What is the inspiration behind this color palette?
Whites and pinks inspired this theme, and that shabby, romantic look.
How did you go about choosing the ornaments?
I chose different sized ornaments in a blush hue, and a garland that had a similar shade.
What was your favorite element in this theme?
I love the beaded garland mixed in with the ornaments.
What are the things to consider when decorating a tree with a soft, feminine look?
Keep it lightly decorated. Sometimes many ornaments and baubles can be too overwhelming and take away from the shabby style.
