Cottage Glam
In my home, a simply but elegantly decorated Christmas tree is a thing of beauty. And this cottage glam tree styling is high on glamour and elegance, but still has the softness and warmth of a snowy cottage retreat. It’s one of my favorite styles and color combinations, and the effect is surprisingly simple to achieve.
For the cottage glam look, aim for using a variety of textures in a white, green and gold color palette. Begin with the Frosted Fraser Fir tree, then decorate it with clear glass baubles and sparkling golden ornaments. Play up the glamour with fresh eucalyptus, vases of hydrangeas, and sage green, velvet stockings on the mantle.
What inspired you to do this theme?
I was inspired by the gold checked curtains in my bedroom, as well as the French furniture and the gold ornaments.
How do you decide how many ornaments will go on the tree?
I chose gold ornaments for their size or finish and mixed them. With this tree, it was a little more decorated with ornaments so I did mix quite a few different ones.
How does the theme fit into the overall aesthetic of the room?
It blends well with the French country look. Dark hardwoods and warm elegance is always a good pairing.
What did you enjoy the most about decorating this tree?
The bedroom tree is one of my favorites to put up, so I always look forward to decorating it and enjoying the glow.
