White and Silver Shimmer

How tall is your tree?
This tree is just under 7 feet.

What mix of ornaments did you use for this tree?
I used a mix of pewter ornaments that we collect, and then tons of glittery snowflakes and white and silver balls. I always start with the sentimental ornaments and then use the snowflakes and balls as fillers.

How many ornaments did it take to cover the tree?
I have about 25 pewter ornaments, to which I add 4 dozen glitter snowflakes and about 60 balls in various sizes.

How did you decide on the decorating theme of your tree?
The theme of our tree is different every year. I love to use our sentimental ornaments and then change up the rest of the decor with color. Last year, I was really craving a serene and peaceful palette and so we opted for mostly silver and white, along with white lights.

Is there a story on a signature ornament you’d like to share with us?
Our favorite ornaments are the pewter ones that are inscribed with the year or our children’s names. One day, I hope our entire Christmas tree will be covered with them!

Is there something different you did for this tree that you particularly like?
The one thing I did with this tree was intentionally keep it simple. I didn’t put up all our decorations, but chose just the ones that are special or white and silver. I omitted garland and ribbon and went with a much more natural decor, and we enjoyed the quiet color palette and twinkling white lights all season!
